Easy recipe with chicken tenders

Chicken tenders are a great substitute for a hotdog.

Ingredients

  • chicken tenders
  • buns (try potato buns)
  • avocado or olive oil
  • butter
  • garlic powder
  • ketchup
  • mustard

Directions

  1. Heat cast iron grill pan to medium.
  2. Add a small amount of avocado oil to keep the tenders from sticking.
  3. Add tenders to pan; cook until golden grill marks appear on the bottom.
  4. Flip tenders over; cook until done.
  5. While the tenders are cooking, butter each bun.
  6. Remove tenders when done; grill buns until golden grill marks appear.
  7. Serve chicken dogs with ketchup, mustard, and/or slaw.
  8. Enjoy!

This camping favorite is best cooked using a grill pan to achieve the golden brown grill marks. No grill pan? No worries – use the charcoal grill at your campsite for a nice smoky flavor.

Heat a cast iron grill pan to medium. Add a little avocado oil. Add chicken tenders to grill pan and season with garlic powder.

The tenders are ready to flip when nice grill marks appear on bottom. Cook the tenders on the other side until done. In the meantime, butter the buns and set aside. Remove the tenders and grill the buns until golden brown. Serve with ketchup and mustards and/or coleslaw. Yum!
