Camping, hiking, golfing, birding, and boating – Cheraw State Park in South Carolina has something for everyone.
Cheraw State Park Campground
The campground is small and on Lake Juniper – perfect for us! The views are amazing. We stayed at site #11.
The campground was quiet during our visit. We enjoyed peaceful sunsets each night.
Lakeside Trail with Boardwalk
The lakeside trail starts at the Lake Juniper Dam then crosses a bridge to a long boardwalk. The boardwalk hugs the lake and leads over to the picnic area, park office, and eventually the golf course.
We enjoyed the views and watched for wildlife along the way.
Cheraw State Park Golf Course
The Cheraw State Park Golf Course is an 18-hole championship course with views of Lake Juniper. We did not have the opportunity to play during our stay but would love to try it out on our next visit.
Campsite Cooking
The evening was chilly on our last night at Cheraw. We decided to enjoy the sunset one last time and make potato soup over the campfire. If you enjoy hardy potato soup check out our campsite cooking recipe here.
